For Ohio State men's basketball and men's ice hockey games, Per Big Ten Policy, everyone needs a ticket for entry. Fans wishing to bring small children (under the age of 2) to a game may purchase a lap ticket for their infant. This ticket will allow the infant to enter the venue, but that child must sit on their parent/guardian's lap. If a seat must be occupied by the child and/or carrier, then a regular ticket must be purchased. Lap tickets are only available on the day of the game/event and can only be purchased at the Schottenstein Center ticket office. 💡 Guru Tips
Insider tips to make the most of your experience at Schottenstein Center
🅿️ Parking Guru Tip
Surface lots fill fast on popular show nights. Arrive early or consider parking a few blocks away — it's often cheaper and you'll avoid the post-show traffic jam.
💰 Free Parking
Good news — this venue offers free parking. Still arrive early for the best spots near the entrance.
🎫 Will Call Tip
Will call lines can get long close to showtime. Pick up your tickets early if the box office opens before doors — or go mobile tickets to skip the line entirely.
💵 Bring Cash
This venue accepts cash — handy for merch tables and food vendors where card-only lines are shorter. Keep small bills.
🎭 Theater Tip
Center orchestra or front mezzanine are your best bets. Avoid extreme sides — you'll miss staging and expressions. Most theaters don't allow late seating, so arrive on time.
♿ Accessibility Guru Tip
Accessible seating is available — book early for the best options. Call the box office directly for companion seating or specific accommodation needs. They're usually more helpful than the website.
📅 Busy Venue
Schottenstein Center hosts 89+ events — it's a popular spot. For big shows, arrive 30-60 minutes early to clear security, grab food, and settle in without stress.
👜 Bag Policy
This venue has bag restrictions — check the size limits before you go. Small clutches or clear bags are usually safest. Leave the big purse in the car.
📸 Camera Policy
Cameras may be restricted — professional/DSLR cameras are usually banned but phone cameras are always fine. Check before bringing gear.
👨👩👧 Bringing Kids?
This venue has a child policy — check age requirements before buying. Pro tip: aisle seats are a lifesaver with little ones for quick bathroom and snack runs.
🚕 Rideshare Tip
Set your pickup spot a block or two away from the main exit — everyone else is fighting for rides right at the door. You'll get matched faster and pay less surge.
